  Smooth Completion of the Concrete Pouring for the Zero Blocks of 2 Main Piers in the Continuous Rigid Frame Bridge of Maximum Span 

 

On March 27, the concrete pouring was completed smoothly for the zero blocks of 2 main piers in the continuous rigid frame bridge of maximum span located in the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway. And, the segmental construction was going to take place, marking active construction progress for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway project and providing reliable data and technical support for the subsequent construction.

There are 28 continuous beams in the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway, among which 25 continuous teams are under construction. Segment DK20+156 (72+128+72) of No. 2 super-large bridge is the continuous rigid frame bridge of minimum span in the full line and one of 26 control engineering and key and difficult engineering. A cable-stayed bridge was connected with the continuous rigid frame bridge (high-speed railway) and the biggest pier is in the height of 25 miters. There are 67 construction segments, including 2 zero blocks, 2 edge-span cast-in-site segments, 3 closure segments and 60 segments.

The majority of the continuous beams in the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway was located in Bridge 2 and 3 and constructed by the Chinese enterprises, namely 25 continuous beams. To guarantee the project construction to be safe, excellent and high-efficient, the Chinese enterprises carried out the key research project for the continuous beams, organized to hold a safety, technology and quality workshop for several times, implemented the “three checks and three inspections” and “upgrade and report for inspection” system, researched and formulated a concrete pouring design scheme, and clarified the liability list of on-site control persons. At present, 25 continuous beams in Bridge 2 and 3 are under construction smoothly. To cope with the breakout of the COVID-19 epidemic and the flood disaster caused in Jakarta, Indonesia and the surrounding area caused due to the supernormal rainfall, the Chinese enterprises constructing the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway further strengthened the communication and contact with each party, optimized the arrangement, strictly performed various measures of epidemic prevention and control and guaranteed to actively and stably promote the construction of the project provided that all the construction employees are safe and healthy. On March 12, No. 5 tunnel in the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway was completed as scheduled to become the second complete tunnel project in the full line.

The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway is an important strategic project with the combination of “the Belt and Road” initiative and the Maritime Axis strategy of Indonesia, one of the largest key infrastructure projects in the cooperation between China and Indonesia, the first high-way speed railway constructed and managed as per the Chinese high-way technology standards in a foreign country with the speed of 350 kilometers/hour, and the key project for the connectivity of the Maritime Silk Road. The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway starts from Jakarta, Indonesia and ends at Bandung, in the length of 142 kilometers.
